Technique Tuesday: Interlocking Fold

Today's technique is an Interlocking Fold.  The card is relatively simple to make, but a little more complicated to decorate.  The original idea came from a technique challenge on SplitcoastStamper (TLC362).  This week's technique challenge is to use any technique from 2012, and I chose this one.
The card still folds flat and could be mailed.  The rolled flowers add a lot of dimension and would require more postage, but you could use flat embellishments instead.
The soft colors of the Twitterpatted DSP make the bird and flowers pop.  I am a huge fan of rolled flowers and love any chance to use them.  I have also become a huge fan of this bird punch.

To make this card, you need to cut two pieces of cardstock in the size above.  Then score both pieces on the dotted lines.
Then make a mark on the outside score lines at the above measurements.  On one of the pieces, cut up from the bottom to each mark.  On the other piece, cut from the top down to each mark.  Interlock the pieces together, long end with long end.  Then alternate folding on score lines, and interlock short side together too.

Then decorate with your favorite paper and design.  The recipient of this card will be in awe.
