Friday Focus: Dress Up Framelits

Well, I took off yesterday to have a Mommy and Son Day with my five year old.  But, I am back at in today and in love with these new framelits.  They are so cute and more versatile than I even realized when I bought them.
This first card uses the dress form and one of the dresses for a CAS card.  Turquoise and Tangerine are bold, vibrant colors that really make this card pop.  The ribbon is a sneak peek of what is coming up during Sale-A-Bration in just a couple of weeks.
For the next card, I decided to use the framelits to make some separates.  This would make a cute card to send to a girlfriend (specially if she is a fashionista). Next time, I would sponge some clouds on the background to increase the outdoor clothesline effect.  The "grass" is also a Sale-A-Bration sneak peek that will be available starting January 22nd.
One of the things that I love about this new product is that you can use cardstock, embossing, or DSP to create a whole wardrobe of clothing to fit any occasion.  As I type this, I think my next project may be to work on a wedding dress.
The sleeveless dress makes a perfect apron with just a few snips of the scissors.  I trimmed the neckline to look more like an actual apron and show the the green dress details.  I cut a little off the bottom too, so you could see more of the dress hanging down.
Next time, the dress may be DSP and the apron a solid color.  I think it would look cleaner and still be very cute.  Either way, it is definitely coming back for a Mother's Day card in a few months.
And, for those of you who have been following me for a while... Once again, I made my own DSP for the background.  Just stamped a coordinating darker color onto cardstock.  The sentiment is perfect for the apron and cakes.  A great card to include with some sweet treats for a friend.

  1. Followed your link here from the SU Gallery page. I'm your newest follower. :-) I love what you did with these framelets--you have a way of thinking "out of the box" that I like. I want to order these framelets but couldn't really come up with enough uses to make it worth the $$. Thanks (or not!) for helping me make up my mind . . . c'mon payday!
